ChefKnifeRatings.com was started in 2006 as part of a culinary journey. I love cooking, and and I love seeing that satisfied look that my guests have when they eat something amazing that I prepared.
Living on the Alabama Gulf Coast nestled between New Orleans and Pensacola, I've made it my mission to learn as much as I can about regional flavors. As a serious at-home chef, I also know how important it is to have both the proper tools and adequate skills to use them. Of all the cooking I've done over the years, I've found that the single most important tool in my collection is my chef's knife. When you combine that knife with the knowledge of how to use it, then you'll be taking that journey with me. Culinary excellence begins with the basics, and what could be more fundamental to preparing great food than being able to cut the raw ingredients?
But with every raw ingredient comes a unique cutting, slicing or chopping challenge. Not a single chef knife is intended for every purpose in the kitchen.
Since I have this passion for cooking, and I also love the beauty and craftsmanship of well-made knives, I thought I would combine those passions into this site. With so many chef knives and knife manufacturors out there, it only seemed fitting that that I provide a venue for my fellow culinary journeyers to compare notes on the top chef's knives in the world.
